WSCA Requests FINA Examination of Banned Coach/Athlete Issues

           The WSCA Board has asked FINA Coaches Commission Honorable Secretary Mark Schubert to place on the Coaches Commission Agenda for the next meeting, a discussion regarding responsibility for tracking and enforcing bans imposed by either National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) or the IF’s (International Federations) such as FINA itself.

            The issue comes up due to repeated inquiries as to the observed fact that banned Coach Zhou Ming of China was coaching on deck at the All-China Games of October.

             Coach Schubert has assured WSCA Executive Director John Leonard and the WSCA Board that the issue has been placed in line for discussion by the FINA Coaches Commission, Chaired by Osvaldo Arsenio of Argentina.

             The exact date of the next meeting of the Coaches Commission is not known at this time.
