Rob Mirande

 

 

Robert D. Mirande has been head coach of TPA coaching staff since August 2000 and coaches our Senior swimmers. Rob has an impressive record of achievement in coaching and was formerly Head Coach of Buenaventura Swim Club, California. He has:
  • Coached Chad Carvin, former American Record holder in the 500 free and 1650 free and current American Record holder in the 1000 free. Member of the National "A" Team.
  • Coached Mark Warkentin, 4 time Gold medalist at the 1999 World University Games. Member of the National "B" Team. Member of the 1998 Goodwill Games Team.
  • Coached Ian Prichard, the first High School swimmer to break 4:20 in the 500 free in 17 years (4:19.34). Member of the National Junior Team.
  • Member of the USA National Junior Team Coaching Staff, 1993.
  • Member of the USA National "B" Team Coaching Staff, 1996.
  • Member of the USA National "A" Team Coaching Staff, 1996.
  • Member of the USA Short Course World Championship Team Coaching Staff, 2000.
  • Coached more than 50 Junior Championship swimmers since 1990.
  • Coached more than 20 Senior National swimmers since 1990.
  • Coached 7 Olympic Trials swimmers since 1992.
  • More than 100 of his athletes have gone on to swim in college since 1990 (Division 1, 2, & 3).
  • Coached more than 30 California Interscholastic Federation champions.
