Mo Chambers

Coach Mo Chambers coaches the Santa Barbara Masters at the Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club in Goleta, California. Prior to coming to the Santa Barbara area, Mo was in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was head coach at Mountain View Masters for eight years, during which time she developed the team website (www.mvm.org) and was one of the first to post daily workouts on the internet.

In addition, Mo coached and ran a variety of swim programs at several Bay Area locations for the Western Athletic Club for over 10 years. This experience in the health club business strengthened her business and marketing skills.

Prior to her coaching career, Mo received a B.A. in Photography and then worked for 10+ years in the computer business. Mo put her strong graphics and technical background to good use in her cutting edge swim related publications and communications. She believes that using all facets of communication (from paper to electronic) helped her to build the Mountain View Masters from 50 swimmers to over 350.

Mo is past editor of the MACA newsletter and the Pacific Masters Swimming newsletter. She is the current editor of the USMS Coaches Committee Quarterly.

Mo was selected as the USMS Coach of the Year in 1996.
