Doug Garcia

Doug Garcia, one of the co-founders of the Washington State University Masters Swim Club (WSU Masters), has been instrumental in the clubs growth since its inception in 1993.  The club started with eight swimmers and has grown to a high of 50 registered swimmers in a town of only 25,000 people.  He serves as club administrator supervising two assistant coaches, does recruiting and promotions as well as serving as meet director for club hosted swim meets.  Coach Garcia also serves on the USMS coaches and marketing committees, in addition to serving his LMSC as coaches representative and newsletter editor.  A graphic designer by profession, Coach Garcia works for the Washington State University Marketing Communications department, where he practices his skill in the University's effort to recruit and retain high ability students.  Coach Garcia has published a nationally marketed workout guidebook with training tips and swimming workouts.
