Position:
  Full Time Head Coach of private, year-round club team.  The Bellingham Bay Swim Team, located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Bellingham, Washington State, is a USA Swim Team with approximately 114 year-round swimmers running from one site.  Our competitive swimmers range in age from 6 to 19 from four skill-based groups and do not include Masters Swimmers.  BBST is looking for an enthusiastic full time, year-round Head Coach to lead our team.  This private swimming club is a not-for-profit 501-3C organization, managed by a committed volunteer board of directors that works closely with the team’s Head Coach to develop a comprehensive business plan.  The ideal candidate will be a college graduate with a minimum of 5 years coaching experience in a leadership role with an enthusiastic approach to the development of swimmers from novice to National Qualifiers.  Responsibilities:  The Head Coach is responsible for day-to-day direction and hands-on guidance and involvement in all aspects of the swim program.  This includes the possession of exceptional communication skills with swimmers, parents, Board members and coaching staff.  Duties include: 1) -Assessment of swimmer’s abilities; 2) -Development of long term goals and swim programs to meet the needs of both competitive and recreational swimmers; 3) -Reports and works directly with the team’s Board of Directors;  4) -Overseeing growth and management of assistant coaches;  4) -Development and execution of dry land programs; 5) -Coach 2 swim groups daily; 6) -Garnering and growing Team Spirit; 7) -Develop seasonal meet schedule (SCY and LCM), attend and coach swim meets as scheduled; 8) -Maintain and track goal setting with individual swimmers and daily attendance; 9) -Ensure accurate management of HY-TEK programs; 10) -Prepare all meet entries for submission; 11) -Develop calendar, news bulletins, regular communication, and create content for the team’s website; 12) -Report at and attend monthly Board of Director’s meeting.  Preferred Qualifications include:  1) -Coach member in good standing of USA Swimming that is current on all safety requirements and background checks (CPR, First Aid & Coaches Safety training); 2) -Respectful and patient communication style with parents, board members, staff and swimmers; 3) -Strong core values that include respect and trust; 4) -Provide consistent, positive motivation and swim atmosphere; 5) -ASCA certification of Level 3 or greater or equivalent proven experience, education and achievement; 6) -At least 5 years of coaching experience in a leadership role recruiting, training and supervising staff; 7) -Knowledgeable in HY-TEK Swimming Management Software (Team, Meet, Business); 8) -Knowledgeable in MS Word and Excel.  Competitive salary and benefits: Base Salary Range $31,000 to $38,000 DOE; Plus health benefits and incentive bonuses.  We are accepting applications currently from qualified candidates to start the beginning of the 2008 Fall Season. Pilot Aquatic Club of Knoxville, a USA Swimming Gold Medal Club, is accepting resumes from qualified ASCA Level 5 coaches for the position of Head Coach.  After resumes are reviewed, phone interviews will be held, and top candidates will be invited to visit Knoxville.  The new coach may begin at any point during the remainder of long course season or at the beginning of the fall. We are seeking an energetic, experienced coach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  The Head Coach will assume responsibility for the entire program and will train the senior swimmers. Viking Swim Club is currently recruiting for the position of full time head coach. VSC has consistently produced some of the best swimmers in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest region. Viking Swim Club is located in beautiful Petersburg, Alaska. Known as Alaska’s Little Norway, Petersburg is a fun and friendly community with good schools, a great swim team and a brand new pool facility.  VSC is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated coach to join our program. It would be preferred that the candidate have a level II ASCA certification and prior swim coaching experience. The new head coach would be responsible for writing and implementing workouts for all different levels of competitive swimmers. VSC serves swimmers that begin at the developmental and novice level and on up to the Senior Sectional level. Applicants should have experience with, and be willing to work with all levels of vsc Swimmers. vsc trains in a new 6-lane/ 25-yard pool located in the community swimming facility that also features community cardio training facilities, a sauna and warm pool with water slide.  VSC is a not-for-profit 1031-3C Corporation and the coach reports to and is directed by an experienced Board of Directors and typically has about 60 swimmers enrolled in the program. The Head Coach typically oversees an assistant coach. Generally, VSC and the Head Coach travel to four regional meets, three championship state meets and one out of state meet per season. The coach must be able to attend & coach the swim meets and coach afternoon workouts with some morning and weekend workouts as needed for competitive level swimmers. There may also be other duties as assigned.  The preferred candidate should currently be registered with USA Swimming and ASCA,  and have, or be able to obtain before employment, first aid certification, CPR, AED and have passed the USA Swimming background check. Applicant must  have a positive attitude and be able provide each individual swimmer with the best experience possible. Preferred applicants should have competitive swimming experience, preferably at the collegiate level.  The applicant must be able to run day-to-day operations of swim team, compile meet entries, assist in some administrative and managerial duties and attend monthly board meetings. Des Moines Swimming Federation (DMSF) is a 110 member USA Swimming Bronze Medal Club.  We are a parent-run club located in West Des Moines, Iowa.  The WDM/Waukee area is the 9th fastest growing community in the country.  Our swimmers age in range from 6-18 years old and we run our own lessons program.  We are looking for a part-time Age Group Coach (minimum ASCA level II) for this salaried position.  The successful candidate will work with our swimmers ages 6-12 with the focus on technical aspects of swimming. Other responsibilities include overseeing the senior swimmers when the Head Coach is unavailable and approximately 4 hours a month supervising lessons.  Administrative duties include meet entries and recruiting. This position is approximately 15 hours per week plus meets and reports directly to the Head Coach.  The successful candidate needs to be enthusiastic and have a professional attitude.  Dependability is a must.  We train at two local hs pools (6 lane 25 yds) and during the summer we utilize an eight lane outdoor, 50 meter pool.  Candidates are required to have the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding or Safety Training for Swim Coaches.  A background check by USA Swimming is also required. Proficiency in Hy-tek TM is a plus.  The club will reimburse for meet expenses, professional certifications and coaching memberships.  Start date is negotiable. Our new coach will work with the Head Coach & Head Age Group Coach to train several groups on a daily, 2 times per week, or 3 times per week basis. We are seeking a coach with great leadership, passion, knowledge, & technical skills. Most important is the ability to communicate these skills to our swimmers. The positions is for 5-15 hours per week plus meets. Proficiency with Hy-Tek TM is encouraged as well as all USA-S certifications & life guarding (or ability to get all the certifications in the first two weeks on the job). Administration responsibilities will include checking meet entries, occasional parent meetings, goal setting with swimmers, & attending staff meetings. The salary will be between $5-15,000 per year depending on the number of days per week & experience. NTSC is a Silver Medal Club in the USA Swimming Club Excellence program, having been so honored for each of the last four years, and is consistently one of the top teams at Illinois and Sectional competitions.  The NTSC Age Group program consists of seven practice groups. This coach will lead two of those groups and assist our Head Age Group Coach with two others. Position Description:  Darton College is seeking a full time Aquatics Director/ Head Coach of Men and Women’s Intercollegiate Swim/Dive Teams.  The position is available starting August 1, 2006.  This full time, 12-month position, plans, organizes and coordinates a college and community aquatics program for youth and adults, supervises the safe operation of the pool, and coaches the men’s and women’s intercollegiate swim/dive teams.  The incumbent must be able to manage multiple projects, be willing to learn and accept new responsibilities and work effectively as part of a team.  Recent completion of the $13 million Physical Education/Athletic/ Wellness Complex has created state-of-the-art venues for teaching, athletics and wellness. Description: This is a full-time appointment, renewable on a contract basis, to begin on September 1.   Responsibilities:   Assist head coach in coaching and training of Northwestern’s Men’s Swim Team; Develop and conduct all in-season and out-of-season sessions throughout the year as deemed necessary and appropriate; Aid the head coach in the psychological preparation of teams in both pre-meet and post-meet; and for developing motivation approach to practice and meets; Develop comprehensive knowledge of swimming in decision-making, delegating authority, and in setting objectives; Must be fully knowledgeable and adhere to all rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference (as applicable) and Northwestern University as amended from time to time; Assist the head coach in the recruitment of top student-athletes, commensurate with the admissions qualifications of Northwestern University who are capable of successfully competing at the NCAA level;  Maintain good relations with the parents of prospective and current student-athletes; Demonstrate interest in academic progress of student-athletes;  Work closely with Director of Academic Services in solving and preventing academic problems; Cooperate with team physicians and training staff regarding health care and decisions of practice and participation of student-athletes; Responsible for the maintenance of sound alumni relations and for promoting and participating in various alumni events in cooperation with the appropriate Associate Director; Assist Director and Assistant Director of Development/Athletics in fund-raising efforts on behalf of the swimming program and department as requested; Responsible for maintaining good public relations with the public news media, and working with the Department’s Media Services Director in promoting Northwestern University. NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship.  Available: Two-year term, 2008-09 and 2009-10.  Salary: Funded by NCAA grant for 10 months plus an additional development stipend, a housing stipend, medical coverage, and FICA expenses.  This position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Women’s Athletics.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a sincere desire to enter athletic administration.  Applicants must have experience in intercollegiate athletics as an employee or student-athlete.  Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and writing skills required as well as a working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics. Denison University invites applications for the position of assistant men’s and women’s swimming coach.  Denison University is an institution with a strong athletic tradition and competes in the NCAA Division III and the North Coast Athletic Conference.  Under the direction of Head Coach Gregg Parini, the men’s and women’s swimming teams have posted a combined 42-straight top-10 finishes at the NCAA Division III Championships.  RESPONSIBILITIES FOR POSITION: Assist head swimming coach with the daily operation of the swimming program and the recruitment of student-athletes.  Administrative duties include making team travel arrangements, monitoring academic progress of students, supervising student workers, administering student forms, maintaining team records and statistics, providing the Sports Information Office with appropriate information for publications and press releases and assisting equipment room with the distribution and maintenance of athletic equipment.  Coaching duties include monitoring preparation of athletic facilities for practice and meets, scouting opposing teams, developing and applying team rules, and assisting the head coach with team selection, practices, and meet management.  Recruiting duties include identifying prospective students, contacting prospective students, arranging campus visits, developing printed recruiting materials, assisting the Admissions Office with special events and assisting with the recruit weekend.  Additional duties will include general administrative responsibilities and/or teaching for the department.  QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor’s degree and a sound knowledge of intercollegiate swimming are required.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to coach on the college level.  Successful background in coaching swimming at the college level is preferred.  Candidates must have at least one year of significant and demonstrable experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences.  Candidates need to have successful, proven experience in recruiting student-athletes and excellent writing, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills.  Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of and/or experience in a residential, liberal arts college environment and demonstrate an understanding of NCAA Division III, conference and institutional rules and regulations.  CONTRACT TERM:  The position is full-time, ten-month (August through May), annual administrative appointment with benefits.  Send letter of application and resume with the names, addresses and phone numbers of three references to:  Gregg Parini, Head Swimming Coach, Denison University, P.O.
