The Des Moines Swimming Federation (DMSF) is seeking a full-time Head
Coach with great leadership, passion, knowledge & technical skills for our
year-round swim club. Most important is
the ability to communicate these skills to our swimmers.
DMSF is located in the West Des Moines/Waukee/Urbandale/Johnston, Iowa,
area and is the 9th fastest growing community in the country.
Urbandale is listed in the top ten best places to live in the country.
DMSF is a USA Swim Team with approximately 60-80 year-round swimmers complete
with three assistant coaches and one team manager.
Our competitive swimmers range in age from 6 – 18 from four skill-based
groups and do not include Masters Swimmers.
DMSF also runs a lessons feeder program.
This private swimming club is a not-for-profit 501-3C organization,
managed by a committed active
volunteer board of directors that works closely with the team’s Head Coach to
develop a comprehensive business plan.
The ideal candidate will be a college graduate with a minimum of 5 years of
coaching experience with an enthusiastic approach to the development of swimmers
of all levels.
Responsibilities: The Head
Coach is responsible for setting the direction of the entire club including
training philosophy, hiring of assistant coaches, and parent education.
Duties include:
1) Assessment of swimmers’
abilities with routine evaluation periods; 2) Development of long-term goals and
swim programs to meet the needs our competitive swimmers at all levels; 3)
Reports and works directly with the board of directors;; 4) Growing and
encouraging team spirit; 5) Attend and coach swim meets as scheduled; 6)
Maintain and track goal setting; 7) Prepare all meet entries for submission; 8)
Develop calendar, news bulletins, regular communication, and create content for
the team’s website. 9) Develop seasonal practice schedule and communicate with
pool supervisors. 10)
Communication with our Team Manager in regard to monthly expenses, team
fees, and meet registration.
Preferred Qualifications Include:
1) Coach member in good
standing of USA Swimming that is current on all safety requirements and
background checks (CPR, First Aid & Coaches Safety training). Although ASCA
Level 4 is preferred, consideration will also be given to Level 2 and 3.
2) Respectful and patient communication style with parents, board
members, staff and swimmers; 3) Strong core values that include respect and
trust; 4) At least 5 years of coaching experience in a leadership role
recruiting, training and supervising staff; 5) Knowledgeable in HY-TEK Swimming
Management Software; 6) Good computer skills.
Competitive Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience Base Salary Range $28,000 to $32,000
with opportunity to earn more through other incentives.

SASO is a not-for-profit swim organization located in Northern California
half way between Sacramento and San Francisco.
SASO averages 80 - 100 year-round
swimmers. .Minimum requirements for candidates include:

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic coach

programs within the club. Candidate will be hired by the parent executive board

Directly responsible for 10-12 morning and afternoon practices with Junior and

coaches to design practice schedule and group structure that is cohesive
throughout the team. Assign duties and supervise on deck coaching for all age
group levels. 4.) Develop meet schedules,
travel plans and coaching assignments.
Attend average of 2 meets/month and travel with the team to out-of-area
competition. 5). Communicate with
families and the SASO Board including parent meetings, newsletters, website
updates, coach’s report and board meetings.
6). Recruit and retain swimmers, including marketing and promotion to the
community. 7). Set future directions for
the team in cooperation with the board.
Facility: SASO trains at The Solano Community College,
a 50 meter by 25 yard pool with recent locker room renovations.
Compensation: Base salary range is $38,000 - 45,000 commensurate upon
experience. Club will also cover cost of
travel meet expenses, professional dues and provide a budget for continuing
education and coach development.
Opportunity for additional income coaching and operating the SASO summer
recreational program currently consisting of 40-50 swimmers.

Temple Area Swim Club (“TASC”) is seeking a Head Coach to lead
its competitive USA swim club in Temple, Texas. TASC is looking for an
innovative and motivating ASCA
level III or higher coach, with the highest ethical standards to take over the
leadership and direction of the club beginning in March 2010. TASC is a well
established nonprofit board-supported USA swimming club. The 34-year-old club is
one of the oldest clubs in Central Texas and has established itself with a
reputation for swimming excellence within the region.
The club has 70-100 athletes seasonally and three assistant coaches. TASC
swimmers are well-known within the South Texas LSC.
This past year, we had two Junior National Qualifiers and two
All-American Qualifiers. In addition,
several athletes have qualified for Sectionals, Zones, Texas Age Group Swimming
Championships, All-Star Championships and South Texas Senior and Age Group
Swimming Championships. Our club
practices at the Hardin Swim Center located at Temple High School.
During SC season we train Mondays through Saturdays.
Our 10-lane, 25 yard pool has a separate diving pool that is great for
developmental instruction. During LC
season, our athletes train two times a day at this facility but have limited
access to a long course pool. Our
facility is equipped with an electronic Colorado timing system and full
scoreboard. Temple is strategically
located mid-way between Austin and Dallas. It is a growing and prosperous
community with an attractive low cost of living index as compared to peer cities
and areas. A candidate should be an
excellent communicator and exhibit leadership, maturity and professionalism.
The head coach will be responsible for the following: (1) Managing daily
swim operations and administration, (2) Promoting the importance of proper
technique, teamwork, and sportsmanship, (3) Overseeing, assisting and developing
coaches, (4) Developing and implementing practice and meet schedules, (5)

years head coach, or head age-group coach experience, at a certified USA Swim

Darton College is seeking a full time Head Coach of Men and Women’s
Intercollegiate Swim/Dive Teams. This
full time, 12-month position, coaches the men’s and women’s intercollegiate
swim/dive teams. The incumbent must be
able to manage multiple projects, be willing to learn and accept new
responsibilities and work effectively as part of a team.
Recent completion of the $13 million Physical Education/Athletic/
Wellness Complex has created state-of-the-art venues for teaching, athletics and
wellness. The Physical Education Complex includes a Natatorium that is a 25 yd.
x 25 meter, ten lane indoor facility. The
Aquatics Center is equipped with a CTS5 with full touch pads and an eight lane
scoreboard integrated with Hy-Tek meet and team management package.
The facilities include two 1 meter and one 3 meter springboard Maxiflex
Model (B) Boards. The Men’s and Women’s
Swimming team comes off its most successful season in the history of the program
including a 2nd place women’s team finishes and 3rd place men’s team finish
overall at the NJCAA championships.
Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: 1)
Be responsible for coaching and directing all aspects of intercollegiate
swimming program. 2) Provide leadership
and general team management in the areas of scholarships, practicing, scouting,
recruiting, and athlete’s skill development.
3) Develop competition schedules
and arrange team travel. Ensure student
athlete academic success by overseeing academic advising and monitoring 4)
academic progress. 4)
Organize and implement promotional and fund-raising activities in support

Paint Rock Pool, an outdoor pool in the Turning Mill neighborhood of

summer season. The pool opens on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 29,
2010) and closes on Labor Day (Monday, September 6, 2010). This is a private
pool owned and maintained by its members, and governed by a Pool Board
composed of pool members. Approximately 160 families are members.
The qualified applicant will perform
a variety of duties in planning, scheduling, maintaining the seasonal
operation of the pool, communicating with the Pool Board and members, and
above all, have enthusiasm for making the pool a safe and fun place for the
community. The Pool Manager has
overall responsibility for safety at the pool, as well as managerial,
administrative, facility, aquatic, communications and leadership duties,
including: Managerial/
administrative: 1)
Manage and oversee lifeguards: Plan
and organize workloads and staff assignments for lifeguards; Meet regularly
with staff; Advise and coach lifeguards and evaluate them at the middle and
end of the season; Monitor time sheets and prepare payroll reports;
2) Manage swim lessons:
Establish sign-up process; Assess quality of lessons; Issue end-of-season

other safety procedures, as required.
Communications: 1) Communicate
regularly with Pool Board regarding safety, staff, facility/maintenance,
swim lessons, and membership issues. Leadership/other:
1) Prepare the facility for fun events such as swim
competitions/games, pool parties and other special events; 2) Create a safe
and fun atmosphere for staff and members.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1)
Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, or
equivalent years of experience; 2)
Current Aquatic Facility Operator Certification or Certified Pool Operator
in the State of Massachusetts; 3)
Current certification in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid for the
