Update
The last couple of months have seen the formation of the American Club Swimming Association. The concept has been welcomed by a lot of coaches and clubs and we are looking to ways of making an impact on members. Initially the main objective is to gather relevant information about members to share by developing a secure web site for our members. The information will be of interest from the technical to the business side.
We are now looking at different benefits that we move forward on and make available to our members.
Although there are many issues that have arisen in my discussions, there are some that are more prominent than others.
A. Salaries and wages for coaches B. Contracts C. Health and retirement benefits D. Developing facilities E. Financing facilities F. Competition calendar G. Junior nationals H. Political forum
These issues cover a multitude of topics that are key to a lot of coaches; there are many more things that are important and how we address these will be important to the future success of the organization.
As we move forward and develop this program the need to have more coaches and clubs to come on board is critical. The success will be in the activity that we can generate between members who use the sharing of ideas. In the coming couple of months the focus will be to see our visibility increase and find out how best we service clubs and coaches. I hope that we can take the lead in the future of club swimming in the USA. I am looking forward to hearing from more coaches and moving forward with our efforts.
