Teaching
After 45 years of successful coaching Bob Steele provides coaches and swimmers at all levels with a pragmatic, enthusiastic, humanistic, approach to sport. Key words are; simplicity, teaching, interaction, reinforcing, and motivation. He has coached age group, high school, and university swimmers, entry level through world-class competitors. He served as the USA Swimming Director of Coach/Athlete Development for 9 years, directing swimming camps and clinics nationwide and his Training Games and Gimmicks book is a coaching favorite and popular activity at camps and clinics. Over 100 teams have experienced either WSC or USA-S Olympic Development Camps. He has spoken to over 20,000 coaches, presented at The ASCA World Clinic eight times and has been recognized by ASCA for contributions to coach education. His new book on the art of coaching; Games, Gimmicks, Challenges for Swimming Coaches will be released in December.

Coaching
Bob Steele has coached 17 swimmers world ranked in 37 events with two American Records and six NCAA Division II National Records. His CSUB teams won five NCAA Division II National Championships in seven years and SIU teams won six National Independent Championships. He is a four-time NCAAII Coach of the Year, three-time Illinois Collegiate Coach of the Year, and had 22 H.S. and 145 NCAA All-Americans. His club swimmers have placed in the championship finals and won events at USA-S Juniors and Seniors. He has had swimmers at the US Trials, Olympic Games, Pan Ams, World Championships, and International Meets, along with announcing the ’88 Olympics. He has been a Speedo Coach for 36 yrs and presently serves as a Master Coach/Consultant for USA-Swimming, working with young world ranked high school swimmers, their teammates, parents and coaches .
