are currently 2 Versions of the Level 1 Foundations of Coaching test
available:
1) the paper based test available from ASCA for NON-USA Swimming
Coaches, i.e. High School Coaches and summer league coaches.
2) and the newer version on-line test at USA Swimming.
The difference between the two tests:
The
ASCA paper based test is shorter, does not include questions on USA
Swimming rules, and only counts toward ASCA Certification.
It does not comply with the USA Swimming Coaching
Education Requirement.
The USA Swimming ON LINE test is
longer, includes questions on the rules book AND COUNTS BOTH FOR ASCA
CERTIFICATION AND USA SWIMMING COACHING EDUCATION REQUIREMENT. MOST
COACHES SHOULD TAKE THIS TEST.
The old version ASCA On-Line test is out of
date and no longer available.
- USA Swimming Foundations of Coaching Test
For coaches needing
the Foundations of Coaching Course for their USA Swimming Coach Membership
Education Requirement AND for ASCA member coaches who also want ASCA
Level 1 Certification. Results are sent to USA Swimming and to ASCA.
ASCA members will also need to send us a certification application.

This link downloads the test. It is not available as an on line test at this time. As
with the previous ASCA version, this test is ONLY for ASCA member
coaches seeking ASCA Certification ONLY. It does not comply with the
USA Swimming Coach Education Requirement. Follow this link to order
