This test
is for ASCA Certification ONLY, and does not comply with USA Swimming's
Coaching Education Requirement. To take the USA Swimming Foundations
of Coaching test hit the back button and select the first option. If
you are seeking BOTH ASCA Certification AND the USA Swimming Coaching
Education Requirement take the USA Swimming version of the test.

The Online ASCA Level 1
Foundations of Coaching Exam is required for all
new ASCA member coaches seeking Level 1
Certification. To be an ASCA Level 1 coach you must be a member of
ASCA, complete this test, and submit a certification application.
There are 95 multiple choice questions on this test.
The
online version does not contain the chapter reference headers.
These are VERY helpful in finding the right answers in the books. Therefore we
highly recommend you download the entire test first. See Left
Sidebar.
You must submit the entire exam while
online. This is another reason
we suggest working off of a paper copy of the exam offline.
When you have completed recording your answers offline you may log back
onto this site and submit your Exam for scoring.
This test is based upon two books. Questions 1 - 66 are
based upon the Foundations of Coaching book. Questions 67 - 95 are
based upon the The Progressions for Athlete and Coach Development.
The order of the questions on the test follows the order of information in
the books.
Both books are available from ASCA and cost approximately $30 plus shipping. We highly recommend purchasing the books and
reading them for maximum educational benefit. Click
